How it works

Tell us where, when, who’s coming, your budget and what matters most. Claude, the AI model we use, organizes your answers, or an itinerary you made with ChatGPT or Claude, into a clear brief agencies can quote from, and flags anything missing. A team member checks the brief before any agency sees it, and we ask you if anything is unclear.
A team member chooses up to three vetted, licensed or accredited agencies by destination knowledge, trip type, responsiveness and capacity. Claude may suggest agencies, but a person decides. Never more than three, so each agency can give your trip proper attention.
Each agency prepares its own tailored proposal and aims to send it within 48 hours of receiving your brief. Agencies may draft with AI help, but every price comes from the agency, which checks it and signs it off. If an agency can’t plan your trip well, it can decline. We’d rather it did.
Claude drafts a comparison card for each proposal: price per person and in total, what’s included and what isn’t, hotels, flights, deposit and cancellation terms, and how long the price is valid. It points out the differences in plain words, and a team member checks it against the proposals before we send it to you. You can ask questions before you decide.
Accept the proposal you like and book directly with that agency. The agency sells you the trip, takes your payment (including any deposit) under its own terms, books everything and looks after your trip. Or don’t book: you never have to accept a proposal.
The cheapest proposal isn’t always the best value, and sometimes it is. We compare proposals on how well they fit your brief: your must-haves, what’s included, the hotels and the timings. You always see the full price, and the choice is always yours.
Illustrative example, not a real proposal
A family of ten from Manila asks for a Japan trip with an onsen, a theme park day and no flights before 8 am. Proposal B costs less but leaves out airport transfers and departs at 6:10 am. Proposal A costs more and includes transfers, wheelchair support for a grandparent and a 9:40 am flight. The comparison card shows both, so the family can decide what matters most.
We use Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. We never put passport numbers or card details into it, and we don’t send it your name, email, phone number or accessibility needs. Prefer a person? Ask us to handle your request without AI, and we’ll do it where we can. Read How we use AI.
We open routes one at a time. A route opens fully only when at least three vetted agencies are ready to quote it. That’s how we aim to give you a real choice.
Going somewhere else? When trip briefs open, send yours anyway. If your route isn’t covered yet, we may match you with one agency, add your request to a waitlist, or let you know we can’t help this time.
From November 2026 to January 2027, we plan to run a concierge pilot on our first two routes, with a small number of agencies. It will work as described above. Two things to know:
Travelers pay nothing to WanderBids; agencies set their own prices. You pay the agency for the trip you book. WanderBids is paid by agencies, not travelers: our planned agency plans include a success fee on bookings won through WanderBids.
Trip briefs open with our pilot, planned for November 2026, and take a few minutes to fill in. You pay nothing to WanderBids, agencies set their own prices, and you never have to accept a proposal.
